About
Hello.
I’m Kevin P. Hall, a reasonably bright guy with a passion for economics and politics. My politics are somewhere between libertarian and conservative, leaning toward libertarian.
Why “Fiat Lux?” Once upon a time I read a book called A Canticle for Leibowitz by Walter Miller. It falls under the generic heading of what I call “After the Big One” science fiction stories, although the purists tend to refer to it as post-apocalyptic literature. The story centers around a group of monks who venerate the mysterious St. Leibowitz, and the rise of civilization from the ashes of the great war. The book itself is divided into 3 sections, and the second section is entitled Fiat Lux, Latin for “Let There Be Light.”
The center picture has changed. This picture is one I took from my airplane seat during an early morning approach to Hartsfield Airport. This is the best of several attempts. The Latin inscription is from the Vulgate, Genesis 1:3.
I hope that my posts will shed light on the topics I hold dear. I try to provide insights that are just a little different than you’re likely to see elsewhere.
I hope you enjoy my meanderings and dabblings.
fiat lux!
